Kurukshetra was a peace conference compared to the fights me and one of my best friends Dhyanesh had(oops! have)!

Altercations,arguments,fistcuffs,combat,conflicts,bout,brawls,confrontations,arguments,scuffles,

skirmish,strifes,tiffs,duels,wars,battles,feuds,fracas,quarell,melee,ruckus... U name it, We've had it!(these are all the synonyms i could think of for fight, Doesn't mean we haven't had all the other varieties though!) Sometimes, we would not have hesitated to cast avadakedavra at each other!(Me being Harry and him being Voldemort of course!).

But he's one person i can call at 2A.M in the morning and ramble about how many ounces(oops!gallons) of oil my HOD has in his hair,whether the beautiful girl from the civil department he eyes is ever gonna even turn around and look at him(HA HA HA!),whether to buy a carera GT or Nissan Skyline or an Alfa Romeo!(Oh in NFS ofcourse!GOTCHA!) and so many other highly classified topics(Dhyanesh! We should talk about world peace more often!)

He's one person with whom i can let my guard down and say any thing that rolls of my tongue(That get's me into trouble later!But we always patch up!)!He would listen even if i speak in Swahili!

He's a Big Brother to me(though he's actually younger to me)!!

Grapple at the Big Apple!(I know it's a cheesy title)

I'm writing this post with a lot of indignation in me,so if it is bound to be a little judgemental and might contain lot of raving against a particular Quatret , Christened simply as "The losers"

Hot afternoon, Washington park,NYC.A guy dressed in a flannel shirt sporting run of the mill sneakers walks a few paces on the sidewalk to grab a bite to eat.Pretty mundane happeining which you can see dime a dozen! But what if the guy was outrageously handsome,had an effervescent personality,was the star in one of the biggest movie franchises,was down to earth and unassuming?What if he guy had crowd paranoia?What if the guy was Robert Pattinson?the situation does a 180 now, doesn't it?

Robert Pattinson was filming for his next movie "Remember me" in NYC this morning.Before going further, we need to keep in mind that Rob has crowd paranoia.Rob is a nice guy with a calm demeanour,ever accomdating to his fans,with no "Air " about him and is a thorough professional.He's a wonderful person..'nuff said!

It all started with a post in the site onlocationvaccation.com(if i have my way, i would ban the dayum site!)which disclosed the filming location for RM's first day of shooting.This started a kind of movement and soon the entire internet was abuzz with the prospect of catching Rob on set.Come 8.30 on Monday morning, a huge crowd of paparazzo and girls,were waiting with bated breath at the location in NYU.

Rob arrived and began filming his scene in his usual nonchalant manner.The sporadic cries of "i love u robert" definitely disturbed filming but Rob did seem unfazed!Having scores of cameras being pointed a you(these do not belong to the filming crew),having ur crew outnumbered,unable to stop the unrelenting shrieking(are these girls related to the witches of Salem?) got to him after a point and this is what he did!

U can almost savour the desperation in the man in this pic(only a frustrated man would sit on a fire hydrant and put his face in his hands,knowing it's gonna be fodder for the tabloid rags!somebody, get the guy an asprin!oh rob!!!)

Filming wrapped up and Rob had to walk 2and 1/2 blocks to his trailer.Time for he fans to say a hi!, get an autograph walk away and then go into hyperventilation right?That's just what did NOT happen! The crazy loonies also called the losers took social faux pas to a whole new level with this

Watching the forced smile on rob's troubled face is just gutwrenching and the video of this idiocy brings tears to ur eyes!The guy was so gracious to u even then!He even mumbled a have a nice day to everyone just before he got on the trailer!Now that the losers have gotten their 15 secs of fame, they ought to be prepared for a vehement backlash!They probably ruined any chance of Rob being as approachable as he is now!I'm sure he is gonna get z-grade security from now on!Did u for one second think of how his mom would feel when she watched her son being grappled and harassed this way?I guess ur mom would probably hire Bin Laden to launch an airplane right into u though!

Rob is probably gonna be stuck into his hotel from now on with his cancer sticks and booze watching 12 reruns of Loveboat!Way to go girls!! make him a recluse!!Thats what we all want!

The Supreme court of California passed "Proposition 8" a law that deems Gay marriages illegal.Prop 8 had mega stars like Brad pitt, Ashlee Simpson,George Clooney,Pete wentz,Natalie Portman rallying against it!

The question is this and individual's preferences and if so,does the government have the right to endorse or condemn it?

Each person is given a right to choose his food,the way he dresses, his religion and so many other mundane aspects of his life, so why should he not have a choice in sexuality?Why is it so taboo?

And why-o-why should they be judged on that?

Case in point:Adam Lambert:Adam got a standing ovation from the "oh! I'm Harichandra's cousin"Simon Coweel himself,gave a new flavor to so many routine songs, had an effervescent personality,dressed in a fashion forward manner(ok! thats subjective)and clearly blew everyone away! but come the finale and rumours that he was a closet gay guy became rampant!That contributed to him to some level,losing the crown to the arguably less talented,but all american(going to church every sunday,boyish good looks,cute wife, soft demeanor) Kris allen.I've immense respect for Kris,in fact Kris was my favorite from the right begining, but all said and done,Adam was the better singer! It's a shame that he had to lose because of something intensely personal which had as much to do with his vocal abilities as Octomom does to decency(I hate that B!tch)!Alright there is no tangible proof that the fact that he might have been gay had anything to do with Adam's loss but hen again even for such a speculation to arise should make us as a human community bury our heads in the sand!

Whether a person is for or against homosexuality is one thing but whether they should judge gay people because of that is a whole new question all together!

Wikipedia defines marriage as-"Marriage is a social, religious, spiritual, emotional and/or legal union of individuals that creates kinship." does it say anything about man woman? niet!

Marriage is a celebration of one persons love for the other.period.Why should two men or two woman not be allowed to that freedom to declare their love?Do "till does do us part,or for better or worse or in sickness and in health" apply for only the conventional marriages?Which brings us to the question of why a gay marriage must be deemed "Unconventional"?People talk about segregation on the basis of caste all the time! atleast that's something a person is born into! But Being gay is just a choice,like chosing your favorite color or football team!

The passing of prop8 may not be the final nail in the coffin of hatred towards homosexuals but it's damn well close to that!

Gentrifying my faith in Gentlemen!

Some might call me a cynic. And the one word that brings out cynicism pouring from my every pore is "GENTLEMAN".

I thought the highly endangered species of gentleman had finally gone extinct! I found one article about how Robert Pattinson was such a gentle man, but that's just a raindrop in an ocean!

But one journey from Coimbatore to Chennai aboard a uber comfy KPN bus changed my total perspective!

I had to make the above mentioned journey in order to take up some crap IES exam!As it was a last minute thing, i made do with my qualms about travelling by bus!

Ready to board the bus, had an air bag slung over my shoulder,another vanity bag,a bottle of water and a book("The Plot" by Irving Wallace) in my hands. So i should have possessed some serious acrobatic skills if i were to board the bus!

I was past the point of "koi muje bacchao" and was just waiting for my friendly neighbourhood spiderman!

Then came my knight in shining armour for the next few hours!This really nice looking( n imean really!),20 something,decent guy walked up and offered to help me out!I was wary as to where being obligated to him will lead to! But my tendons were giving way(okay that's an exaggeration!)!I unceremoniously dumoed my bag on him and gladly accepted his help!

Now u think i would have thanked him and said the obligatory crap and moved on right?WRONG! My spinal cord decides to tweak my motor neurons and i ve to trip over air(oh! that happens to everyone! Why does troublw find me?) and in this amazing demonstration of some spectacular tai chi moves(yeah just imagine donald duck strecthing his arms!There u go! me doing tai chi!!) i somehow end up ripping up both our headphone jacks from our respective phones(yeah both me and spidy were listening to music on our phones) and abracadabra "Smells like teen spirit" blasts out from both our phones! wow! whattta joincidence with a c!!(u need to watch F.RI.E.N.D.S to guffaw @ the last line! for those unfortunate souls who are nt familiar with central perk that's just WHATTA COINIDENCE!).Oh now i've to demonstrate my verbose language!right?wrong!

All i could manage was a sheepish grin!(trust me to give u memorable moments!)!meanwhile spidy rants off about how funny it is and how gr8 a band Nirvana is!(At that moment for all i cared,Paravai Muniamma could have done the song) While i'm trying to drown in embarrassment a loud, obnoxious family walks in and bumps into me!! just the impetus i needed!U see i'm the epitome of grace!Darn!I manage to steady myself this time,not before knocking off spidy's water bottle! spidy goes gracious and chivalrous! picks up both our headphnes and hands them to me!He's all thats ok,not ur fault,could happen to anyone(anyone who has yet to learn to walk)

I walk to my seat and so does spidy! This is the part for a neat bye, thanks,nice meeting u right?(oh i know this time u did not even think right!) i take out my ticket and voila! both of us have been alloted the same berth number! Oh what didya expect?Karma is gonna affect the guy who alloted the seats!His next life is a dung beetle!

I do some serious freting now! But spidy is the most gracious yet again!he asks me to make myself comfortable and that he'll difuse the problem and walks away!now i doubt if the guy is a vampire or a martian!

He returns few minutes later,appologizes profusely for the delay(awwwwwwww! how sweet!) and tells me the problem is solved,asks me if i need something and walks away to his seat!

He never asked me my name,Never made an inappropriate overture or expexted anything in return! Spidy single handedly made me believe that there are still a few Gentlemen(in the real sense of the word! not the one which has been flippantly used by the media!)out there!

In Coimbatore!

Alright then!! I watched this amazing lil' movie called "In Bruges" yesterday! wow Colin Farel has so metamorphosized into a brilliant actor from just the sterotypical hollywood bad boy!! The movie also has some kickass acting from Ralph Fiennes and Brendon Gleeson!The excessive swearing and profanity might be unsetlling @ first but after a few minutes it kinda feels spot on!!

Ray(Colin Farel's character in the movie) calls Bruges,a lil' fairy tale town in Belgium his own personal hell and voila! it sounds like a line from my life!While Everyone goes ga ga over the virtues of coimbatore i somehow find this the dorkiest place in the world!

Yeah the climate is awesome! But gimme chennai's heat and sweat any day! i'll take it!

Yeah the people of coimbatore are so nice @ heart.They are helpul and blah blah blah! but i miss the haggling with the chennai autowallas!

Kongu tamil is supposedly one of the more refined dialects, but ppl not everyone knows the 4 directions(nesw) in tamil!I would rather that when i ask u for directions to a place u don't take me literally and tell me "kizhakala merkala" stuff! is right and left so difficult to comprehend!

I don't like random strangers coming up to me with fashion advice either!(refer next post)It happens only in coimbatore man!

Why do even elder people call younger people "vaanga ponga" in coimbatore? just don't get it!

Why Can't even a single friggin' theatre here show "X-MEN: ORIGINS"? It's a blockbuster for heaven's sake!oh and tamil dubbed versions don't count!I don't want to hear Hugh Jackman(in all his glory) going "naambunga"(trust me)!

A curse from a girl's mouth(just a damn it! mind u) that is seen as a some loss of chastity!I mean life's not all hunky dory always and we are allowed to curse! I personally believe this should be incorporated in the "Fundamental rights".

Why does everyone has to turn and look if someone speaks in english over the phone on a town bus!It's rude to stare!

I don want to hold ur baby while u stand in town bus!He/She could pee on me!! I don want that! Atleast ask me first!Or take the damn seat i offered!Don't foist ur baby on me! and all u cougar ladies(40-50 year olds) on the bus,if u see a lady with a baby standing and feel bad for her offer up ur seat!Don't ask me to get up!

And u school kids i'm not a stand for ur bags! and it's ok to ask someone if they can hold ur bags instead of just depositing them on their laps!

A girl in jeans or skirts is not a separate species! stop staring!

As metallica's Nothing Else Matter runs in the background(gr8 song btw) these are some random thoughts through my cerebrum!

1.Chilly baby-corn is a mouth-watering dish!

2.Geni-the family tree website is so darn useful and interesting.

3.*Disclaimer* this particular thought is just my opinion.

The kids who take part in the Scripp's Spelling Bee are probably torutured souls hounded by their parents.

4.Guys hate any mention of so called hollywood heart throbs even in their computer history..

case in point: My cuz sharanyan asking me to clear his history coz' he did not want any mention of robert pattinson in it!(tasteless tee hee hee)

5. The very same cuz has some classmates who have an extraordinay degree of eloquence.

Case in point: The gals on his sarang documnetry competition team..kudos nithya and the rest of you!

6.Finding parking space in cross cut road is a job i wouldn wish on my worst enemy(read: zac efron!)

7.I discovered the differences between a laptop lcd and a tv lcd!!

8.Beggars in Delhi are becoming so resourceful(ref:The Hindu 3-6-2009 last page)

9.I can actually tolerate heavy rock music! and it kinda grows on me!! i even listened to metallica today!

10.Women can get along really well without being Bitchy all the time!(Thank God for that)

11.Brad Pitt has a killer accent in "Inglorious Basterds"! He's a shoo in for next year's academy awards! Can't wait for the movie!!

The past 12 hours-HALLELUJAH!

The last 12 hours have been short of euphoric!!
I beat my bro at a "Business" marathon.. Nadal, rafa(*cat calls*) whatever goes out and loses! yipee!! this definitely paves the way for roger to go out there and get his career slam!! also makes things a tad easier for verdasco, who i'm rooting for("go fernando")! robin soderling amen to u!
i'm gonna try not to make the next part a play by play of the mtv movie awards-but guess oestrogen will get the better of me!!:P

got up real early to watch the Mtv movie awards!!found a nice HD streaming site!I was waiting for Robert Pattinson to show up @ the red carpet! He gave it a slip!:(

But he was the first person shown on camera! and man did he look breathtaking!! Even Jim carrey looked @ him and wanted to overturn prop 8!!(*cheers*)!

The host guy-Andy Sandberg is a god send!! his spoof of the nominated movies priceless!and he mentioned rob in his opening rap sequence too! rob's expression made me go (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!)

A run down of the awards one by one!

Best Breakthrough Female Performance-Ashley tisdale- I couldn care less!!

Best Fight- Twilight- Robert Pattinson and Cam Giganet!Rob looked uber adorable! and the forest on his head was drool worthy!!He made some funny remarks and walked away!!

Bruno kinda flashed Eminem(gasp!) fell into eminems lap with his exposed derriere!!It was also the night of Slim shady's 1st stage performance after a long time! well shady stormed off apparently pissed!!

Zac Efron(grrrr) won best male performance(blah! blah!)

Best Kiss- This one was a no-brainer!! We all knew it was gonna be robsten! They had this cute moment on stage!! almost kissing and then stewart breaking away with a thank u!

Best actress-It may have been kristen's moment in the sun but the look on rob's face when she dropped the award- so adorable(u gotta be a girl to get this i suppose!)

Rob,Kristen and taylor also showcased a trailer for new moon- unbelivable cgi and some brilliant acting from Rob!It was the only time the theatre was quite!Other than that the whole time Screams of Robert! Could be heard Sporadically!!!

Twilight also won the best movie award!

All in all the Robert Pattinson Appreciation Awards was just that- full of robert- but that's more than ok with me!!!

P.S. I really adore Robert Pattinson not just his character edward
